Seymour Exploration Receives Positive Signal from Manitoba
Government
Sudbury, Ontario – September 8, 2005 – Seymour Exploration Corp. (TSX-V:
SEZ) announced today that as part of registering the Company’s ownership
of the Lynn Lake nickel mine property, the Manitoba Government has
confirmed that Seymour and its subsidiary Lynn Lake Nickel Mining
Company will not incur liability for existing site contamination. In
reaching this conclusion the Manitoba Department of Industry, Economic
Development and Mines conducted extensive research into the history of
ownership and liability for in situ contamination resulting from former
mining operations.
Commenting on this positive development, Richard Murphy President and
CEO of Seymour Exploration stated “We are very pleased with this
decision, which demonstrates responsible leadership on the part of the
Manitoba Government. Since January 2005, we have been working closely
with the Department and are impressed with their efforts to clarify the
complex history of site ownership and liability. This establishes a
framework for future resource development at Lynn Lake and clears the
way for us to begin exploration and resource expansion at the former
mine site.”
Seymour Exploration Corp.’s objective is to establish the existing
mineral resource in the Lynn Lake nickel mine and add new resources
through exploration so that the economics of reopening the mine can be
determined. The Company expects to release the results of the ongoing
resource calculation in the second half of September.
